Public descriptionCe jeu de données a été créé à partir de la base de données de l'IRD "LAGPLON" concernant la Nouvelle-Calédonie. L'intégration de ces données dans l'INPN s'est faite dans le cadre du programme IFRECOR. Créé en 1975 par le service plongée de l'ORSTOM (Office de la Recherche Scientifique et Technique Outre-Mer) de Nouméa devenu IRD, LAGPLON est un système d'information de la biodiversité marine des récifs et lagons de Nouvelle-Calédonie et d'autres régions de l'Indo-Pacifique. On y trouve notamment des informations sur l'habitat naturel, les groupes majeurs associés ainsi qu'un ensemble de descripteurs qui renseignent sur la nature des biotopes, la distribution spatiale et, dans certains cas, l'abondance des organismes.
