Public descriptionL’Herbier du CIRAD est enregistré sous le nom ALF à Index Herbariorum publié par le New-York Botanical Garden. Des collectes botaniques réalisées en 1958 au Mali, à Bamako- Sotuba, ont constitué la base originelle de cet herbier.
L’herbier ALF constitue donc une collection plutôt récente. De grands botanistes ont contribué à sa réalisation. Ils ont participé à la collecte et la détermination des échantillons et à la valorisation de ce patrimoine. Parmi eux : Hubert Gillet (1924 – 2009) Jean Pierre Lebrun (1962 à 1998) Philippe Daget (1992 à 2001) Pierre Poilecot (2005 à 2012)
