Public descriptionUn premier inventaire, engagé en 1972, a donné lieu à une publication en 1983 de la Répartition des orchidées indigènes de France. Cet inventaire a été conduit seulement par la SFO. Dès 1984, la SFO a contacté le MNHN pour continuer ce travail, puis le ministère a passé commande en 1987 d’un inventaire des orchidées avec la réalisation d’un atlas pour objectif final. Celui-ci a été publié en 2010 par la SFO et le MNHN (sous la coordination de François DUSAK et Daniel PRAT), mais d'autres atlas départementaux ont été publiés entre temps par la SFO.
