The counts of waterbirds and registration of threats and conservation measures at coastal sites at East Atlantic Africa in January-February 2017 was organized as part of the cooperation between Wetlands International (WI), BirdLife International (BLI) and the Wadden Sea Flyway Initiative (WSFI) to improve the monitoring of waterbird populations using the sites of the East Atlantic Flyway. The surveys itself were conducted within and with methodology of the International Waterbird Census (IWC) and the Important Bird and Biodiversity Areas monitoring project (IBA).
